We are Moving !!!!!!!

Hello,
after a lot of thinking, negotiations, if yes and if nots, my husband and I, decided that he would accept a job offer in Paris !!!( Well, it is outside of the city, but they say they are in Paris).
I want to tell you not only the good things, but the bad things about moving and everything else.

So after the negotiations were done,  the planning part started.
Luckily, we were working with a relocation company that helped us in a lot of areas as,  bank account, housing, schools, etc.
First, we needed to decide where to live. The city where his job is, is not a very fascinating city and it is very expensive leaving in Paris.  After some research we found a very good bilingual school in Saint-Germain-en-Laye that is kind of North of Paris. It is a very nice area to live and not far from my husband's job.
So after filling a lot of paperwork, emails, letters of recommendations, we got an interview at the school and set a time to go back to Paris to go house hunting, visiting the school, and other details that needed to be resolved in person and before the moving.
It is a very well known fact that it is very difficult to open a bank account in France. And you need a bank account for everything. From paying bills , to get paid, and everything else.
But thanks to our French helpers,  we started the process while in US and went to bank in our house hunting trip and it was done in 30 minutes!!!
Having 5 days in Paris we were able to go the schools interviews, and look for houses. We really liked one of the houses , but need to wait to be know if we were accepted or not to rent it.
The same with the school. Wait to be notified if he was accepted or not.
Back to US and waiting.  It was not very easy to wait and try to plan everything. What if we didn't get the house? What if he didn't get accepted at the school? WE still need to plan the moving and everything else.
After almost three weeks we got the answer that we got the house and he got in school!!! Hurray!
What a relief to have some parts solved.
We have a cat that we were planning to bring with us. I did some research and found the paperwork and procedure. My vet said he did this before and it would not be a problem. Three months before she got the microchip and a rabies vaccination. All the paperwork only 2 weeks before we go.
Looking for a moving company was not easy. But after a lot of emails we set up with one.

Of course I was able to try some desserts!!!

                                                                  And cheese!!!

That's it for now.
Next post I will write about the moving!!
